Lev Braschinsky Memorial - 2011

The Vladimir Petrov memorial was held in Jurmala, Latvia, from Feb. 15 (arrival) to Feb. 20 (departure), 2012. The tournament was organized by Latvian Chess Federation in association with Grandmaster Alexei Shirov and replaced previously announced Tal Memorial keeping all the original terms: the schedule, the venue, the prize fund and the invited players.

The international children chess tournament „Alexei Shirov winter cup” was held by the Latvian Chess Federation under active collaboration of GM Alexei Shirov from 14th (arrival) till 21st (departure) of February, 2012 in Jurmala (Latvia).

1. The goals.

Festival will be held in 5 star Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel, 24 Kugu street, Riga, Latvia, from August 24 (day of  arrival) until  August 28 (day of departure) 2011. Opening ceremony takes place on the August, 25^th at 15.00,  followed by round 1 at 15.30. The last round will be on the August 28^th at 13.00.

The International Chess Festival RIGA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OPEN 2011 was held from August 9 to 14 at the main building of the Riga Technical University located in the heart of the Riga – the Old Town – Kalku street 1 (two main ELO tournaments  and an additional blitz tournament).
